Works towards reduction of tobacco use and secondhand smoke, & conducts activities to counteract tobacco industry messages.
TFCLogoTobacco Free Chenango, a program of Chenango Health Network is a partnership of community-based organizations and individuals that have joined together to build healthier communities through tobacco-free living. The purpose is to reduce the prevalence of tobacco use and exposure to second hand smoke in Chenango County.

Tobacco Free Chenango promotes the New York State "Quitline" and events such as the "Great American Smoke-Out" in November and "Kick Butt Day" in March each year.

Activities include referring smokers to the "Quitline" and educating county residents about the negative impact of tobacco use (smoking and smokeless tobacco) and about the tobacco industry's misleading marketing strategies.

Tobacco Free Chenango advocates for policy change in support of a tobacco free environment. Twenty-two organizations and businesses in Chenango County have signed a "No Tobacco Sponsorship" policy and five bars and restaurants have signed a policy saying they will not conduct tobacco promotional activities on their premises.
