PrescriptionRx

Chenango Health Network’s Prescription Assistance Program helps Chenango County residents to get medicines they need for long term if they are uninsured or don’t have prescription insurance and cannot afford to buy their prescription drugs. Certain eligibility requirements apply and services are provided at no charge.

Offered by pharmaceutical manufacturer companies, prescription assistance programs provide medicines free of charge. Staff help with applications required by the pharmaceutical manufacturers. Often they work directly with them and the local health providers. CHN advocates help to manage the flow of paperwork necessary to access the medicines:

Meds
  • Patients complete applications and provide proof of income;
  • CHN staff review the applications;
  • Physicians review and sign the forms and the prescriptions;
  • A CHN advocate forwards the applications and prescriptions to the pharmaceutical companies;
  • Patients pick up the medications at the doctors’ offices where they are usually mailed.
